For years, skincare, beauty and wellness were often marketed primarily towards women. But that is changing. More men are discovering the benefits of professional skincare, grooming and wellness treatments – and at Blackabey’s, we are seeing that change for ourselves.
Men’s skincare is on the rise
Recent data reported by Professional Beauty UK from Pinterest’s 2026 Men’s Trend Report shows just how quickly interest is growing. Searches for “men’s skincare” have increased by 165%, while searches for “men skincare products” have risen by an impressive 280%. Searches for “sunscreen for men” have also increased by 108%.
It is not simply about looking good. Increasingly, men are becoming more interested in understanding their skin, building simple skincare routines and making professional treatments part of their regular self-care.
Pinterest’s 2025 data also recorded a 230% increase in searches for “men’s facial”, highlighting the growing interest in professional facial treatments.
Wellness is for everyone
At Blackabey’s, we believe wellness should never be defined by gender.
This month alone, we have welcomed men regularly for waxing, massage, reflexology and Indian head massage. These treatments are not about fitting into a particular idea of beauty. They are about taking time out, looking after yourself and feeling comfortable in your own skin.
Massage can be a welcome opportunity to switch off from a busy week. Reflexology offers dedicated time to pause and reset, while Indian head massage can provide a wonderfully relaxing escape from everyday demands. Professional waxing is also becoming an increasingly normal part of male grooming routines.
When you look at our Treatwell booking system, you may notice that we do not use words such as “Mens Facial” or “Mens Massage”. The reason for this is purposeful. Our team take a personalised approach to every facial and massage, irrespective of gender. It is therefore not necessary as professionals to make a facial gender specific. We are completely inclusive of all genders and our professionals are able to guide you to the best suited treatment. You can simply contact us here.
Professional skincare for men
Dr Victoria also sees male clients regularly for more advanced skin treatments, including medical facials, microneedling and chemical peels.
For many men, this may be their first step into professional skincare. There is no need to arrive knowing exactly what treatment you need. Dr Victoria takes the time to understand your skin, your concerns and what you want to achieve before creating a bespoke treatment plan.
Skincare at home is part of that picture too. Bespoke skincare product plans can be created to complement professional treatments and make looking after your skin at home straightforward and manageable.
You do not need a complicated ten-step routine. You simply need the right products for your skin and a plan that works for you. We always advise all patients irrespective of gender to initially book a one hour consultation with Dr Victoria in order to understand your skin, needs and goals in more depth. A new approach to men’s self-care
The growing interest in men’s skincare and wellness reflects something much bigger: taking care of yourself is becoming less about gender and more about wellbeing.
From skincare and waxing to massage, reflexology, Indian head massage and advanced skin treatments, men are increasingly recognising that self-care is not indulgent. It is simply part of looking after yourself. So, if you are new to our salon or visit us regularly, make sure to think about the men in your life and send them this blog.
