Common issues during your 20s are: ️

  • Acne and acne scarring ️

  • Dullness ️

  • Skin Texture

After the age of 25 you also start to lose 1% every year of your skin collagen. So banking that collagen early in your 20s is essential as well as tackling the common concerns above!

So how can blackabeys help you? ️

Dr Victoria provides a hypercustomised skincare routine using alumiermd skincare essentials with the introduction of a retinol and SPF. ️The premium medical grade skincare regime is modified to your needs and your skin concerns to help you feel confident in your skin.

chemical peels are often commonly used in this age group to improve skin texture and correct dullness.

microneedling and mesotherapy are also used depending on the patient’s skin concerns in order to improve acne scarring and stimulate collagen production ️

The use of skin boosters and polynucleotides, if suitable, can also be used to improve radiance, acne scarring and collagen boosting ️

Depending on the consultation which will involve discussing suitability, risks and benefits, Botox (also known as botulinum toxin) is sometimes used to reduce the development of fine lines and wrinkles,

Your 30s

By the time you reach 30 you have already lost up to 5% of your collagen and elastin storage and can lose a further 10% by the end of your 30s. This can be sped up by a poor diet, smoking, caffeine and a higher than recommended alcohol consumption.

That is why in your 30s compared to your 20s the main concern patients attend with to the clinic is the start of lines in the forehead, frown line and around the eyes. By the late 30s you can also start to develop jowls as the collagen levels decrease.

So how can blackabeys help you? ️

medical grade skincare routine tailored to you ️is a great starting point in your skincare journey. In your 30s these often include the use of:

  • a retinol serum

  • antioxidant ingredients such as Vitamin C and E or Green tea leaf extract

  • an effective eye cream with either retinol or vitamin C

  • an SPF ️

As well as skincare, Dr Victoria also uses other treatment options where suitable such as chemical peels to help your skin regenerate collagen and improve skin texture. This may also be used in conjunction with Polynucleotides and Profhilo.

microneedling is also often used in this age group as an incredible way to help with collagen production and fine line improvement. It can also be used in a combination with mesotherapy to rehydrate the skin, improve the skin barrier and reduce pigmentation.

skin boosters are also used as a treatment for a little extra TLC especially in the winter months. It is used to boost your skin glow and hydrate. It can also be used to smooth fine lines and wrinkles and reduce the signs of any scarring.

Botox (also known as botulinum toxin) as well as dermal filler injections can be used for a range of different needs and entirely depends on your skin concerns and your suitability after meeting Dr Victoria. These can be used often in this age group to reduce deepening of wrinkles and improve their appearance long term. This is particularly useful when entering your 40s in order to reduce the extend of fine line development and reduce the need for dermal filler till later in life.

Your 40s……

Unfortunately our 40s is where the signs of ageing start to deepen and settle.

It is therefore really important to start taking your skincare seriously in your 40s (earlier if possible) in order to address the changes seen in your 40s and ensure healthy skin for the future.

In your 40s you really start to see major changes in the firmness of your skin. This is due to the loss of collagen and elastin and reduction in volume of the layers of fat under the skin.

This leads to saggy, dull skin that starts to become more pronounced as well as loss of volume in the cheeks, more pronounced wrinkles and sun damage; which may lead to conditions like melasma or hyperpigmentation.

Whilst you may start to invest in more premium and scientically proven skincare, the mixture of clinic treatments with skincare will give the best results.

So how can Blackabeys help you?

All patients undergo a full face-face consultation which a skin analysis by Dr Victoria. As part of this, Dr Victoria also developed a customised skincare routine using alumiermd skincare. The key ingredients we often use in this age group are:

  • hyaluronic acid

  • ceramides

  • vitamin C

  • retinol

  • SPF

chemical peels are also tailored to each patient’s requirements and in this age group the main aims are to remove debris and brighten the skin. They also improve the effectiveness of your skincare regime. ️

microneedling, polynucleotides and Profhilo are also commonly used to boost collagen and cell regeneration.

Due to fat loss seen in this age group which is part of the ageing process unfortunately, we use other treatments as well as skin care to help aid with this volume loss. dermal fillers of different types and consistencies are used to replace volume loss and restructure facial features. ️ This helps the face to return to its original state and provide further support to the facial skeleton.

Depending on patient needs, suitability and following a thorough in-depth medical consultation, the use of Botox (also known as Botulinum toxin) is used as well as fillers to reduce signs of wrinkles and fine lines. ️

skin boosters also used frequently to hydrate and brighten the skin as well as smooth fine lines.

By the time you are in your 50s you will have or about to reach the Menopause or start to develop Menopausal symptoms.

This leads to a reduction in oestrogen and an increase in progesterone. These hormonal changes can cause changes to the skin including dryness, thinning and loss of elasticity.

The Menopause can also lead to adult acne as well as influence other age related changes including fat loss, pigment changes and resorption of the facial bones causing the facial features to change.

But there is no need to panic. blackabeys has a lot of treatment options for every patient’s needs and can help you keep your skin super healthy. These include: ️

Tailored Hydrating skincare routines with @alumiermd

Chemical peels to improve pigmentation and stimulate collagen production ️

Microneedling to stimulate healing, collagen production and reduce scarring. ️

Mesotherapy to boost collagen and hydration. ️

Polynucleotides and Profhilo treatments to stimulate cellular regeneration.

Dermal fillers and Botox (commonly known as botulinum toxin) if deemed suitable on consultation to soften wrinkles and fine lines as well as replace structural loss from the ageing process.

Your 50s….

60s and beyond…..

The main thing that should be emphasised is it is absolutely never too late to look after your skin. The treatment of the health of your skin and how it makes you feel is just as important in your 60s as it is in your 20s. Each age bracket has its own skin concerns but all are able to be treated with positive results.

Furthermore, looking after your skin is also important in your 60s due to the increased risk of skin cancer and therefore if not for skin appearance, it is important to maintain healthy skin to reduce this risk.

In your 60s it is important to see Dr Victoria as regularly as you can because as you age your skin cell regeneration slows down and often this requires regular treatment to speed up the process and encourage cell turnover.

patients often see Dr Victoria in their 60s and beyond as they develop issues with lack of hydration and moisture retention. This is partly due to the thinning of the skin seen in your 50s and 60s as well as underlying changes in fat composition and resorption of the facial skeleton.

In order to see the results you wish for skincare treatments both at home and in clinic are paramount. Due to underlying medical conditions it is difficult to provide a generic treatment plan and as like all patients particular attention is given to those over the age of 60 to ensure any underlying health issues and medication is taken into account when planning procedures. All treatments we provide are suitable for all skin types and age groups but are modified and adjusted to ensure they suit your skin best of all.
