Inclusivity in Aesthetics: Let’s talk skin tones

If you follow me on instagram and facebook you may have noticed that I advertised a new instagram live this Sunday at 5pm.

This week I am honoured to be joined by Abigail Sifah, CEO and Founder of the Good Things Clinic.

Abigail and I first met at the Harley Academy in London and we hit it off straight away. We both have a passion for skincare and aesthetics; especially when it comes to debunking myths and encouraging the provision of treatments for all irrespective of gender, age and race.

This Sunday we will be talking about a number of different topics involved in the treatment of patients of all skin tones. These will include:

  • general health

  • skincare concerns common in darker skin tones

  • skincare and preparation of the skin to improve and enhance results

  • precautions we take when providing aesthetic treatments to patients with darker skin tones.

  • Abigail’s personal experience in the aesthetic industry both providing and having treatments as a woman with dark skin.

  • how we have made our clinics inclusive to all skin tones.

  • Q&As from our LIVE audience to provide information, education and also help debunk myths around skincare provision for darker skin tones.

There is limited teaching by training academies about treating darker skin tones and this has led to clinics not feeling confident in providing the best care. This is further enabled as common practice by certain brands not providing products and treatments that can be used safely on a variety of different skin tones, types and skin concerns.

Fortunately that is not the case for Abigail and I as we both share a passion for ensuring that our clinics provide treatments that cater for all and that we undergo the appropriate training to ensure patients of all skin tones receive only the best available.

As medical professionals, Abigail and I are aware and confident to treat all skin tones and how we can ensure optimum results.

Make sure to check into our instagram LIVE this Sunday at 5pm to learn more about treatment skin concerns for all skin tones. And remember to bring your questions as we love to hear from you all!

See you Sunday!
